| Current music: | LOSING 11 IN A FUCKING ROW |
Really?
The first Royals game I go to this year was last night's. The one game I went to last year saw the Royals blow a three run late and lose to the Indians in 13. And now they're losing 5-0 right now.
At least an NHL exhibition game is coming to Sprint Center--Blues vs Kings 9/22. Me and Greg are going to try to go.
Dayton got better--Miriam bought me dinner Saturday (5/24) and we went to Iron Man. It was pretty good. Sunday night's reading went well too--I thought at least. Matt, who put on the show, was disappointed by the turn out. I had a good time though and I got turbo-fucked. I got Aaron to buy me a couple of beers. I then bought him a 40 from Meijer and we drank more. Then Jason got back into town (he went to Philly Saturday for a friend's graduation) and we went to Waffle House.
Friday I went to IKEA with Jason. I bought a bathmat and a cutting board. I also found out, on Friday, that I got PUBLISHED. A small electronic zine called Origami Condom took two of my poems. Adobe Acrobat is acting up on my computer so I'm not sure if the issue is up just yet--what's strange is that they keep the proof up on the site as they work on it. At least I got a credit to arm myself with for the next batch of submissions.
A girl that's on the review board of Portland Review facebooked me--she read my Davey Crockett poem and said that it "blew her mind" and that she had to find me and know me. I'll take whatever positive feedback I can get.
I thought about, every once in a while, Loren and Nikki over my trip back--mostly Loren. I think maybe I was sort of unclear about how I expressed how I felt about the whole thing. I don't know. That shit is painful.
I'm taking a workshop in June and will be working at the Writing Center and I'm trying to figure out a good schedule so that I can workout everyday, and at least try to write everyday.
I only really wrote twice during my trip--both times at Bill's Donuts. I talked Nicole when I got back into town and she said she was trying to do a once a month thing with Katie G., and Piper. Five poems a month is the goal. Something I can probably shake.
I need to figure out poems about the following subjects or incorporating these found lines:
Subjects
Indoor Soccer
Borrowed Lines
"They like mummies--even in Japan."
"I hear cunt prices are at an all time high!"
"Ride the tiger, you can see his stripes but you know he's clean."
"I do everything out of fear."
"You look like you have an Asshole on your face."
The first two lines are from Spex, the third Dio, the fourth is something my dad said that my grandpa said, and the fifth one was something Greg's grandfather told him when he came home from college with a goatee. Also I need to still work in Bonerjamz.
Any suggestions (Ki?) would be greatly appreciated. The subject doesn't have to incorporate the borrowed lines.
